Debrief & Post-Game
The Debrief Page
Every completed game generates a personalized page for each player — with their photos, results, leaderboard ranking, and a prompt to leave a review
The debrief page turns every completed game into reviews, social shares, and repeat bookings. Each player gets a unique page with their team photos, a personalized message, and leaderboard rankings — delivered automatically through their post-game email or text.
You configure the layout once in the Debrief Builder, and every completed group generates debrief pages for all players automatically.
How players reach the debrief page
When you complete a group, players with email or text messaging enabled receive a personalized message with a link to their debrief page. Each player gets a unique URL (e.g., escapekit.co/d/a1b2c3d4/) that opens their personalized view of the group's results.
The page opens with a branded loading screen showing your location logo while the content loads, then reveals the full debrief layout.
To preview the debrief page yourself, open a completed group and click View Debrief Page from the options menu in the header. To see a specific player's view, click on their name to open the player detail panel and click View Debrief.
What players see
The debrief page is built from widgets — each one designed to drive a specific outcome. You choose which widgets to show and where they appear using the Debrief Builder. Here's what each one does from the player's perspective.
Photos
Players see their team photos in a grid. Clicking a photo opens it full-size in a slideshow drawer. When photo sharing is enabled, players can share individual photos directly to Facebook — each share includes the debrief page link so viewers can see the full experience.
If you've added image overlays for the room, players see the branded version automatically — your logo, room name, or custom graphics appear on every photo.
Review
A personalized message from your business or game master with an optional review prompt. The title and body text adapt based on the game outcome — players who escaped see celebration copy, while players who didn't see encouragement to try again.
When configured with review links, the widget includes a call-to-action button that sends players to your Google, TripAdvisor, Yelp, or Facebook review page — or shows multiple links so players can choose where to leave their review.
Pro Tip: The debrief page is your highest-conversion opportunity for reviews. Players visit right after their experience, while the excitement is fresh. Make sure your review links are configured before completing your first group.
Leaderboard
Shows where the group ranks compared to other teams who've played the same room. Players can switch between views like All Time and Last 30 Days, and optionally By Group Size. Their group is highlighted so they can immediately spot their ranking.
Each leaderboard entry shows the team photo, team name, date, and ranking metric (time remaining, points, or clues — depending on how the room is configured). See Customize Leaderboard for ranking configuration.
Contact
Displays your business contact information — email, phone, website, and address. Players can tap to call, email, or open your website directly.
Tip jar
Shows the game master's name and photo with a tip button. Players tap the button to tip their game master through the configured tip service. The tip jar is hidden automatically when no game master tip link exists.
Custom posts
Flexible content blocks for promotions, announcements, or anything else — each with an optional image, message, author, and call-to-action button. Use them to promote gift cards, other rooms, upcoming events, or special offers.
Event results
For multi-room events, this widget summarizes the outcome of each room — showing the room name, game time, and result. All players in the event see the same combined results.
How personalization works
Every debrief page is unique. Each player in a group gets their own debrief URL, and messaging can include their name when template variables like {player_first_name} are used. Beyond per-player URLs:
- Game outcome: Messaging automatically switches between success and fail copy based on whether the group escaped. If no results are recorded, success messaging is used by default.
- Room-specific messaging: Each room can have its own message text, so players see content tailored to the room they played — not a generic message.
- Language: If your location supports multiple languages (English, Spanish, or French), the debrief page renders in the player's language.
Behind the Scenes: When someone shares a debrief link on social media, the preview card automatically shows the group's photo and a customizable title and description — so shares look polished without any extra work.
