Group Management
The Group Details Page
View and update your group's game master, team name, and size — then record whether they escaped, their time, clues, and points
Once a group is created, the group detail page is where you manage the session — assign a game master, set a team name, and record game results. The data you enter here feeds directly into leaderboards and debrief pages.
The group detail page
Open any group from the Groups list to see its detail page. The header shows the room name, date, time, and current status (Open or Complete). Below that, the page is organized into sections:
- Group Details — Game master, team name, and group size
- Game Results — Escape outcome, time, clues, and points
- Photos — Team photos and overlays
- Players — Everyone in this group
Which sections appear depends on your room settings. If a room has game results disabled, for example, that section won't show up.
Editing group details
Click Edit in the Group Details section to open the editing panel.
Click Save to apply your changes.
Pro Tip: Assign game masters consistently — even on busy nights when it's tempting to skip. The Game Master Performance dashboard becomes much more valuable with complete data across all games.
Behind the Scenes: When a player enters a team name on the waiver, it shows up as a suggestion in the Team Name field. You can accept it, modify it, or enter something different. The team name carries through to the debrief page and leaderboards.
Recording game results
Click Edit in the Game Results section to open the results panel. If no results have been recorded yet, you'll see an Update Game Results button instead.
Click Save to apply your changes.
Pro Tip: Time fields only appear when the game result is set to escaped. If the group didn't escape, there's no time to record.
Once results are saved, the Game Results section shows a summary. For groups that escaped, you'll also see stats — including how this group ranks against all other groups and groups of the same size for that room.
Birthday indicator
Players whose birthday falls within a week of today's date get a birthday badge next to their name in the Players section. The badge shows their birth date in M/D format, giving your game master a heads-up to deliver a personal touch.
The indicator checks 7 days before through 6 days after today (in your location's timezone). Only month and day are compared — birth year is ignored. The birthday indicator requires the Date of Birth field on your waiver — see Custom Fields for waiver field configuration.
The Show Birthday Icon setting on your location controls this feature (enabled by default).
Pro Tip: Many escape rooms sing happy birthday or offer a small surprise for birthday players. The indicator makes this effortless — game masters see it at a glance without anyone needing to ask.
Header actions
The group header has three action areas:
- Options menu (gear icon) — View Waiver opens the group's waiver page. Copy Waiver Link copies it to your clipboard. View Debrief Page opens the group's debrief (only available after completing). Social Settings opens the group's social sharing configuration.
- Edit — Opens a panel to change the group's room, date, or time.
- Status button — Shows the current status (Open or Complete) with a dropdown to change it. See Completing a Game and Reopening & Editing Groups for details.
