Leaderboards
Customize Leaderboard
Configure per-room ranking metrics and customize the look of your leaderboards — rank by time, points, or clues, and style the public display
Leaderboards add a layer of fun to the escape room experience. Teams love seeing where they rank — whether they cracked the top ten or just barely made the board. That excitement carries over to the debrief page, your public leaderboard on your website, and lobby displays where waiting groups can see the times to beat. Rankings are configured per room, so each escape room has its own leaderboard with its own metrics.
Configuring a room's leaderboard
Go to Leaderboards in the sidebar and select a room from the Escape Room dropdown. The settings panel shows the ranking configuration, and the preview on the right updates in real time as you make changes.
Ranking order
The Ranking Order section controls which metrics appear and their priority:
Toggle each metric on or off with the switch. Drag metrics to reorder — the first visible metric is the primary ranking criterion. When two teams tie on the primary metric, the next visible metric breaks the tie.
Pro Tip: For rooms where most teams escape, "Time Remaining" alone keeps things simple and fun. Add "Clues" as a secondary metric if you want to give an extra edge to teams that needed less help.
Length
Use the Length dropdown to choose how many teams to display: Top 5, Top 10, Top 25, or Top 50.
Customize appearance
Go to Leaderboards in the sidebar. The Appearance section controls how the leaderboard looks on your public page and embedded widget:
Appearance settings apply across all rooms at your location. The preview on the right updates in real time as you adjust settings.
Which groups appear on the leaderboard
Only groups that meet all of these criteria are included:
- The group is completed
- The group escaped (game result is "Escaped")
- The group has Include on leaderboard enabled (this is on by default)
- For time-based ranking, the group has a recorded escape time
Groups that didn't escape, or where Include on leaderboard is turned off on the group details page, are excluded.
Behind the Scenes: When teams are tied on all visible metrics, group size is used as a final tiebreaker — smaller teams rank higher.
